COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PELLET, ABSORBENT, COTTON
This Commercial Item Description covers cotton pellets which shall suitable for use in dental procedures.
Salient characteristics:
The pellets shall be of the following size, as specified:

The pellets shall be Purified Cotton, USP, and shall be spun spherical in shape. The minimum net weight shall be minimum weight of the pellets in the unit package.
Workmanship. The pellets shall be free from dirt, lumps, and other impurities or foreign matter. The end item shall be uniform in quality and free from foreign matter and any defects that will effect life, serviceability or appearance.
Packaging and packing quantities. Unit package (PG). One package containing three thousand pellets of size 1 or twenty-five hundred per pellets of size 2 or size 3, as specified, constitutes one unit. Shipping container shall contain 12 units.

The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by their subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act and regulations promulgated thereunder, and the requirements of all otter applicable Federal and State statutes and regulations.
Recovered materials. Offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practical.
Preservation, packaging, packing. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving shipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carrier’s rules and regulations.
