COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAD, POVIDONE-IODINE, IMPREGNATED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-P-37503 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Pad Povidone-Iodine, Impregnated.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Shall be a single-use pad impregnated with povidone-iodine solution, suitable for use in preparing small skin areas prior to injections, catheterizations and surgery, and in treating cuts, minor wounds, burns, lacerations and abrasions.
The pad fabric shall be of suitable for grade cotton or synthetic blend.
The pad shall measure not less than 1-1/4 inch by not less than 1-7/8 inch.
The impregnated pad shall be packaged individually in a hermetically-sealed foil packette.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing 100 packettes, as specified,
constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
